Welcome
Hello, and welcome to my blog. This blog features woodturning videos, tutorials and demonstrations as well as examples of my work.
I started wood-turning back in September 2007.when I went to night classes for a number of years and progressed from there.
I have always worked with wood, at the age of 16 I started working in a sawmill by the age 18 I was working a large band saw that could cut 24″by 24″ logs. We used to make 12″ by 2″ *1″any plank you would ever need . At age 19 I was put behind a six head power planer making skirting boards, you name it I made it.
I then moved jobs and started working with a carpenter contractor for a number of years
I have worked as a carpenter up to 2007,
I have not worked full time since then due to health problems
I am soon to start working part time all going well,
I love making stuff from wood and metal plastics I love wood-turning most because you can make things fast and can have a wonderful piece made in a matter of minutes, well sometimes 🙂
I make these videos so others can learn from them and inspire them to make their Own pieces
take care Robbie

Hi Robbie,
I have just started turning very recently and find your videos very inspiring and as a fellow Irishman enjoy he humour that comes with it.
A few days a week I clear trees from the power lines so I can get hold of a lot of free wood which is very helpful at keeping material costs down however I am trying to find a way of sealing the ends of the wood I process and after watching one of your videos on bowl blanks I see you used a very liquid based sealer and was wondering what you used?
Thanks again for all the videos you post and for giving me some ideas for future projects

Without a doubt Robbie you are in my opinion the best turner on YouTube. Wonderfully sympathetic to the material and always clear in the execution of each piece you turn.
Best regards from New Zealand
